Know Strength Worldwide

8 countries down, 188 to go (there are 196 countries in the world)
Know Strength has been viewed all around the world - some near, others far. I wonder which country will be next. . .

While we wait, I want to give you a blue-ticket opportunity - figure out which eight countries (flags) are pictured to the left. When you have done that, comment on this post with your answer - use format "p3-Otzi" to write your post. Try to do this without looking at our KnowStrengthSpread map. Happy hunting, and good luck. #brainpower

  1. I LOVE identifying flags! I say (clockwise from top left):

United States (it would be bad if I didn't know this one.)

Chezc Republic? (I will have to look that one up.)

    Azjerjaban? (Same here.)

Belgium (I love seeing this flag; so many people confuse it with germany!)

Canada (Not as obvious as the U.S., but still bad if someone misses this!)

Ireland (I love flags with the three-stripe pattern; simple, stylish, and uniquely European!)

Slovenia? (There are some toughies here!)

United Kingdom (Did you know that the British Empire was the biggest empire ever? They owned a whole continent and around half of another, as well as having even more territories!)

I will look up the ones I am unsure of and get back to this soon!

  2. And by the way, aren't there over 200 countries that participate in the Olympics? That is more than just 196.

    1. Max - I just did some checking on # of countries and consistently get the number 196. I'll have to look into the Olympics as to why there may be more than 200 participating nations. . .

    2. Thank you. Sometimes territories that are not nations that compete as seperate nations in the Olympics. Sorry! :(

  6. There were a few independent athletes in the Olympics- that must explain why 200 countries are in it. Also, I'm getting Houston to help the spread. Jonathan p4
